Certification in Good Governance
Are you comfortable with your governance? Your project team members are all certified, capable, competent and motivated to deliver your projects and the business case is realistic and can be delivered as expected.
But, lots can happen along the way which is why the SRO or Sponsor needs to be supported and needs to know what is expected of them and how they can perform their role .
One way to help Sponsors and SROs to achieve on their accountabilities and to help project managers deliver on their responsibilities is to adopt the 10 principles of the Project, Programme and Portfolio P3GP certification.
The ten principles are:
- Treat Change differently from Business as Usual
- Ensure a single point of accountability for each project or programme
- Business outcome accountability determines project or programme accountability
- Support the person accountable for a project or programme with a governance board
- Separate project and programme decision-making from stakeholder engagement
- Align investments with strategic objectives
- Maintain the business case
- Design portfolio governance to drive investment outcomes
- Ensure consistent and logical decision-making rights
- Enable evidence-based decision-making
Our two day P3GP certification course will help you understand how to follow these principles for effective and efficient project, programme and portfolio governance.
This is a world first course developed by Ross Garland, one of the authors of the Management of Portfolios and Adrian Morey a specialist consultant with a focus on governance. Project Plus is one of the first companies to be accredited to deliver this course.
