Prerequisites

To be able to sit the exam you must meet one of the following criteria and apply on the www.pmi.org website where you will also find details to book your exam.

Criteria 1

  1. A secondary degree (NCEA level 3, high school diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent) 
  2. Five years professional experience in projects
  3. 7,500 hours working experience in leading and directing role in projects. This experience must have been earned in the last eight years.
  4. 35 contact hours of formal education in project management or hold the CAPM certification.

  1. Bachelor degree or higher degree (or global equivalent)
  2. Three years professional experience in projects
  3. 4,500 hours working experience in leading and directing role in projects. This experience must have been earned in the last eight years.
  4. 35 contact hours of formal education in project management or hold the CAPM certification.
About the Exam

The exam has 200 scenario based questions.

The duration is four hours.

It is computer based and can be taken at Pearson Vue testing centres or online from your home or office with an online proctor. The price of the exam is :

PMI Member: US$405

Non PMI member: US$555 

The Annual PMI Membership Fee is US $139 and the Annual Membership fee of the New Zealand branch of PMI is US$60.

 You are responsible for booking and paying for your exam.

Price

The price of the classroom course is $2499 excluding GST. The price of the Live Online course is $1699 excluding GST.
